Another Senior Rep!

Hope everyone had a great  holiday! I didnt see any fireworks this year :-( but I did get to waterski for the first time this summer, so I'm content! Sore.... but content!
Meet "C", our senior representative from Fairport!! He was super polite and ready to try anything! As a volunteer fireman I guess that goes with the territory! I know his mom is anxious to view these so I wanted to make sure I posted a sneak peak!! Enjoy!!

Happy Early Fourth of July!!

I figured I would be ahead of the game for once and wish everyone an early Happy Fourth! I hope you all have a fantastic holiday weekend, full of family, fireworks, food, and fun!! Say that 5 times fast!!
In honor of the holiday we are having a special promotion- book a session with a friend and split the session fee! Sessions need to be booked between today and August 15th and must take place at the same location and date as that of the person who booked with you! Pleasssssssssseeee, call soon as sessions are booking really fast and I want to make sure everyone can take advantage of it!

On to the images....
I have so many it's really hard to narrow down, but I want to share a few from one of my favorite maternity sessions ever. Again, I honestly have the most incredible clients and this family is one of the best ever!! I have photographed their family several times and every time they leave I miss them:-). They epitomize light, grace, and happiness, and who doesn't want to be around that all the time right?!  Their new baby will make a perfect addition to their already magnificent family....

Sorry for the long break but life's been crazy! The weeks since the opening of the boutique studio have been super busy. I came down from the high of the opening, and starting packing to move into a new house, jumped into the busiest shooting time ever, had some great publicity, shot some weddings, tried to settle into the house, had a nasty bout of allergies that made me feel like my face was going to explode, had tons of last minute newborn sessions, proofed til I could no longer see the computer, had one child's preschool graduation, started gymnastics classes with the kids, etc, etc, etc.
    My life is awesome, and VERY full. Those that know me well know that it's been an.... interesting and at times down right stressful couple of years..... but I'm happy to say that I finally feel like I am flowing WITH the universe, instead of against it. And it feels really good. I am trying my best to focus on one thing at a time, to be as mindful as possible, and to remind myself everyday that I have a pretty incredible life. I have 2 gorgeous, healthy, loving, and happy munchkins, a job I love, and I'm surrounded by people on a daily basis who believe in me and love me, even when I'm negative, or anxious, or compulsive:-).
Phew, sorry for the long windedness (I know its not a word but I'm ok with it).
Here are some images from a recent wedding of a perfect couple. They were a blast, and the bridal party was just as fun. They were up for anything... including stopping traffic on East Ave.....

And Kelli Berg,owner of  Simply Beautiful Events could not have done a better job. She was incredible, and honestly the most talented, professional, and high-class wedding coordinator I've seen.

Wow.......

That's all I can say about this past week... The open house was fantastic and I am still reeling from the amount of support and kindness I felt. I truly have the most amazing clients, family, and friends. Thank you to everyone who came! I hope you all had as much fun as I did!!
Monday marked our second TV appearance this year! RNews came and did a feature on the opening of the boutique and even followed me on a little mini photo shoot! You can read the online article and see the video here: RNews segment  It went much better than I had anticipated given that I had a full blown allergy attack the night before was feeling a bit under the weather. (I found out later that day that I had accidentally taken night-time cold medicine that morning which explained the fact that all I wanted to do that day was crawl up in bed:-)!)
Things are in full spring mode now, meaning that we are booking quickly!! May is halfway over and we are currently booking summer sessions and in the midst of completely all of our senior rep sessions. If you are interested in being a senior representative for your school (and receiving some great discounts) send us an email.We will be accepting a few more 2010 senior reps this year. Its going to be a busy weekend!!

This weekend is looking to be a busy one! Our official open house is tomorrow from 12-4 and is preceded by a party this evening to celebrate! I hope to see many of you there- I truly could not have done it without all of your support! 2009 is shaping up to be the best yet and I cant wait to see what happens next! Please stop by tomorrow for some hors d'oeuvres, music, and photos! We'll also be raffling off a complimentary session!

This May marks the third year of our annual promotion to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. During the month of May we will donate 10% of all of our print proceeds to the hospital as well as offer a complimentary 8x10 to clients how book a session during this month. We only have a few slots left this month so call today to set up an appointment. We were fortunate yesterday to be interviewed about our May Strong Promotion at CW-16! Our very first contest winners!!

Two more days of April!

April is about to come to a close and spring appears to be here to stay, finally! There are still 2 more days to enter an Easter image in our very first contest! We have received a ton of adorable entries-the judges are going to have a tough time making their decisions! Winners will be announced on May 1st.

I am happy to announce that Amanda Padgham Photography had our very first news appearance last week! News Channel 10 did a feature on our upcoming May "Memories and Miracles" promotion to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital as well as the work we do for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization. To stay I was nervous is a complete understatement- but despite the numerous "ums" throughout I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! Stay tuned for more information about our May promotion as well as more about what's going on at the studio!

Happy Belated Easter/Passover!

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend, full of Easter egg hunts, candy, bunnies, family, and friends! I don't know that I could have physically handled anymore chocolate, hors d'oeuvres, wine,.... and did I mention chocolate??
We have been receiving a ton of adorable entries for our very first contest at Amanda Padgham Photography! For those of you who haven't received the newsletter, we are having a contest where you send an image of your child in all their Easter/passover glory to info@padghamphotos.com. The first prize winner will receive 1/2 off a session and second place winner will receive a $25 gift certificate towards a session or print purchase for a future session. Its going to be a very hard choice for our judges!! Entries must be received by April 30th and winners will be announced May 2nd!

On another note... a huge congrats to the Dunham family for the birth of their son Oliver William!! His wonderful mom, Katrina, was our assistant until her maternity leave last summer and after a long pregnancy we are so excited that he is here!! I was able to photograph him and his big sister Kaeden last week. He couldn't be more precious, and I couldn't be happier to have him in the family!!! We love you all!

Sneak Peek....Miss "A"

I photographed little Miss "A" almost exactly a year ago when she was a newborn and was so excited to be able to see her again. She is absolutely adorable and I cannot believe how much she's grown. Its always amazing to witness how  quickly kids change from month to month and year to year. She's just starting to walk and has so much fun trying!  I can't wait to continue to watch her grow!

Welcome to our new and updated blog!!

In honor of the opening of our new location I thought it made sense to create a different blog so that we can update everyone on both our client sessions and what's going on at the boutique! Plus, I have been so bad at creating new posts on the current blog that I thought a fresh start would kick start my 2009 goal of getting better at blogging! My plan (and I am going to try really, really hard to follow through:-) is to incorporate some contests, giveaways, images from sessions, fun things at the boutique, and maybe even some personal ramblings here and there. We have some really exciting events coming up and I hope to use this as a way to keep you all informed!!

It seems to make sense to start the first post with a bit of a description about what our new photography boutique is all about! As most of you know we are located on 25 South Main St in the Pittsford Village, directly above the wonderfully well known store, SJ's. After debating about opening a boutique studio, and looking at a ton of potential properties, when I saw this I just couldn't pass it up. The location is perfect, the light is amazing, and the character of the building can't be beat. I knew that if I didnt take a leap of faith and go with it that I would always wonder about the what-ifs. And so I took the leap!

What does this mean for Amanda Padgham Photography? I have had a ton of questions about the space and what it means for our business so it seems a little q&a would be perfect:-)

q- Will you still shoot on-location?

a- Absolutely! I will still do the majority of all my sessions on-location. Shooting at my clients homes, lakes, parks, etc is still my favorite way to photograph. The great thing about the boutique is that it opens the door to having yet another option. Plus, the fact that the boutique is right in the village, and so close to the canal, creates even greater shooting opportunities. There are some great textures and really unique locations right around the studio.

q- Will you still shoot with natural light or will you have studio lights and backdrops?

a- I will still be a a natural light photographer. Our studio is not a typical photography studio in the sense that there are not backdrops or artificial lights. Hence the term "photography boutique". Which brings us to our next question...

q- What exactly is a custom photography boutique??

a- Ah, so glad you asked:-) A custom photography boutique focuses on the entire experience of each client that comes into the door. It is a unique and modern approach to lifestyle photography that goes above and beyond what occurs at your session. Our goal is to create lifelong relationships by offering exceptional service and products from the time of your booking to the time you pick up your final print pieces.

One of the ways in which the boutique will assist with this is that we will now have a location for in-person presentations of your images. In the past, our clients would have their super fun session (of course:-), a few weeks later would view their images online, and have a sales appointment based on the online images. We would then ship the final prints to your home. Although this system worked well I felt that we were losing some client contact. I didn't like the fact that the time spent with my clients was limited to their session, that I wasn't able to witness their reaction to the images when they saw them for the first time, or when they viewed their final print pieces. 

So, now... clients will have their super fun session :-) and then schedule a time for a viewing appointment at the studio during which we will show you a slideshow of the edited images from your session. After viewing the slideshow we will have the consultation part of the appointment, where we will show you all of our products, print sizes, albums, and help guide you in the decision making process. One of the coolest things about this whole process is that you will be able to see the images from your session to size on a 47 inch monitor. In addition we will have a software program that will really help when faced with the dilemma of wanting ALL of your images :-). Oh, and also we will have some yummy snacks and drinks to enjoy so it can be a little bit like a "date night" (only instead of going to a movie theatre you will be coming to a photography boutique and instead of a box office hit it will be a movie of your images:-)

So, the boutique will serve a variety of functions- a viewing gallery, a place to meet to talk about your wedding day, senior portrait session, or birthday party, a production area, a shooting location, and a presentation area. We will also be offering some framing options, jewelry, and probably some fun and unique retail as well!

Whew, that was a long answer....

All in all, I am completely excited to see what this year brings. We had a great opening day yesterday and will be having an open house on May 9th from 12-4 that is sure to be a blast. Keep checking here for updates!!!! And when I start slacking please call me out on it!

Last but not least.... in honor of the boutique opening we will be offering $50 off a session booked in the month of April!!! Refer a friend and receive a complimentary 8x10 with their booking. Sessions must take place in the month of April and we only have a few openings left so call asap to take advantage of the special!!
